Project Overview
Project involved supply, installation and commissioning of equipment for upgrade of the Local Area Network at the Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board.
In particular we revamped the structured cabling, improved the air conditioning in the server room and also provided centralised management of all Access points through a Unifi Access controller.
Problem
The LGRB network was highly decentralised and a flat network without any IP addressing plan, operating on a default VLAN. The server room did not have proper air conditioning and all cables with in the Rack were poorly managed and as thus very difficult to identify when there is a fault.
Solution
- Telekonet team came up with a hierarchal design for the LGRB LAN, in which we separated different offices and services by providing VLANs, proper IP addressing plan and an Access controller to manage all access points within the building.
- We provided cable managers and patch panels to handle the cables and data points within the rack
Conclusion
With our properly designed network, the LGRB technicians can now easily identify network faults and have them resolved at the earliest time.
